Here are the different things I am doing (or have done) on my path to financial freedom. Just because something didn't work for me, doesn't mean it can't work for you, and visa versa. I'm just letting you know what I've done in the hope that maybe it will help you think about things that you could do to make your life financially more successful.

Businesses
Bengal Business Group - I am an independent business owner and have my own online store and catalogs which have thousands of high-quality products (brand name and proprietary). It is a referral-based business, so if you are interested, please em ail me (kestrel@sempai.org) with the Subject: Online Business, and I would be happy to discuss it with you.

Work From Home - You may have seen a "Work From Home" ad banner and wondered what it was about. I did as well, and followed up and contacted them. The people I dealt with were very friendly, and it is a real system with real products. I was not able to succeed with that business the way I wanted to, and have stopped.

Herbalife Distributor - I was an Herbalife distributor for about a year. I do think they have good products (the herbal aloe hand lotion is still my favorite), and personally knew several people who built an organization that gave them a very good income each month. I didn't renew my distributorship because I was not able to create enough income with that limited product line.

Contract Work
I still do some Web site/information architecture/design contract work on a limited basis. With my full-time job, I don't take on that much contract work because I can't guarantee that I won't have to be shipped out of town for days at a time, and that could adversely affect a contract job's deadline. Any contract job where the client is understanding of this situation, I am very happy to work with. Most of my contract jobs are small, 1-10 page Web sites with minimal graphics - more to establish a Web presence and provide contact information and useful content for the client's business than something along the lines of an e-commerce system (although I've architected those as well. ^_^)
